Biography:
He has published two monographs, Minorities, the CSCE and the Yugoslav crisis (1995, second edition 1996) and Serbian Identity in Montenegro (2015), and dozens of articles on international relations, human and minority rights, and political relations in Serbia and the region in national and international scientific and professional journals and proceedings. He has participated in several empirical studies on political public opinion in Serbia as well as in specialized studies on ethnic distance, international relations, and so on.
He has organized dozens of roundtables, expert discussions, summer schools, and public debates. He has worked on various aspects of international relations, international protection of national minorities, cooperation with neighboring countries, internal political minority problems, ethnic problems in Serbia, the Kosovo problem and the political engagement of Kosovo Albanians, redefining relations with Montenegro, constitutional and legal issues, in particular problems of territorial organization, autonomy and human rights, and initiatives for changing or adopting a new Constitution of Serbia. He was also involved in studying Serbia’s status in international relations and the influence of internal reform and transition on changing this status. Part of his work is devoted to political party life in Serbia, the place and role of political parties in society, and problems of corruption.
He was a member of the expert team for adoption of the Law on National Minorities, an independent member of the expert team for Kosovo and Metohija, an adviser to the Prime Minister of Serbia, a member of the Serbian government expert team for redefining relations with Montenegro and adoption of the Constitutional Charter, a member of the Government of Serbia’s Coordination Team for Kosovo and Metohija, coordinator of the President of Serbia’s expert team for adoption of a new Constitution of Serbia, president of the board of directors of the Institute for European Studies, and a board member of the Institute for Manuals and Teaching Tools.
