The findings obtained based on empirical research results and through discussion and exchange of experiences during two workshops (with students; with policymakers and decision-makers) contribute to the knowledge base available to policymakers for the further internationalization of higher education in Serbia, as well as for improving the social adaptation of international students. Recommendations for overcoming the challenges of insufficient knowledge of the Serbian language were emphasized, as well as for the best possible socio-cultural adaptation of international students, through better cooperation between diverse institutions at different levels of governance.

As one of the main results of the project a thematic collection of papers, International Student Migration and Identities, published by the Institute of Social Sciences was promoted. The editor of the Series Empirical Research of the ISS, Dr. Irena Ristić, and the reviewers, Dr. Mirjana Bobić and Dr. Dalibor Savić, discussed this collection of articles.
