Researchers of the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade, Center for Legal Research, in cooperation with the Bar Association of Vojvodina, Journal of the AKV, held on November 3, 2023. traditional Roundtable on issues of responsibility in Serbian law, entitled “Serbia and reforming the institute of liability 6”.
The work of the Roundtable took place in two panels: I. Application of Law and Liability; II. Legal practices, Personal injuries and Liability.
The intention was to point out both the achievements and shortcomings of various legal practices (state authorities, judiciary, public services, health and other professions). In the spirit of the tradition of the work of the Center for Legal Research, the second panel presented topics of liability related to the field of work of members of the medical profession.
Individual topics are devoted to important issues: force majeure in civil law, liability in the sphere of the judiciary on the example of the Supreme Court of BiH, liability and protection of investors on digital assets market, the impact of regulations on gender equality, violation of the presumption of innocence in media coverage, digital work platforms, responsibility for the effects of the Program for the Rare diseases, the Code on the advertising of breast milk substitutes, the importance of medical treatment protocols, patient safety, liability and pre-implantation diagnostics.
The concluding discussion of the meeting highlighted the need for further legislative work, interpretation of regulations and initiation of initiatives before the Constitutional Court, in order to improve legal practice in various areas of liability.
