The Institute of Social Sciences is organizing a Round table discussion where will be discussed the strengthening of research infrastructures in the social sciences through the sophistication of research procedures, the development of methodological standards and practices, as well as data repositories that contribute in making evidence-informed policies.
Since 2017, the Institute has participated in the PERFORM project of the Swiss Government, which was implemented by the organization HELVETAS and the University of Fribourg. The main objective of this project was to improve the conditions for the full application of the principle of “evidence-based policy making”. The PERFORM project was completed in 2019, while the Government of Serbia – Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, recognizing the importance of this principle, joined the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ESS ERIC) in March 2022.
The Round Table will be held on October 27, 2022 (13:00-14:30) at the Institute of Social Sciences (Kraljice Natalije 45) in the Main Hall.
The opening speech at this meeting will be given by the Director of the Institute Goran Bašić and the Senior Adviser of Helvetas Bernd Steimann will present the document Story of Change, which illustrates the positive impact of the PERFORM project on the involvement of the scientific community in the process of creating public policies.
The speakers at this gathering will be, among others, Georg Lutz, Director of FORS, Marin Dietz, Manager of PERFORM project, Bernhard Fabianek, Nikelina Naska (EC), Viktor Nedović, Director of the SAIGE program of the Ministry of Education and the World Bank, Aleksandar Jović, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
