Assembly on Cooperation between Scientific Organisations and Civil Society

In order to examine the manner in which scientific sector and civil society may jointly contribute to solving social challenges, the Institute of Social Sciences and Academic Network for Cooperation in Southeast Europe organized the assembly titled „Civil Society and Social Sciences – Social Capital and Public Good“.

The discussion among scientists of the Institute of Social Sciences with colleagues from civil society organizations concluded with an agreement on designing a platform. This platform aims to make the results of the Institute’s various activities more accessible and understandable to citizens, serving the realization of their needs and rights.

Participants in the discussion included Institute of Social Sciences staff, Nikola Bertolini from the European Union Delegation, Richard Allen from TACSO (Technical Assistance to Civil Society Organisations in the Western Balkans and Turkey, TACSO), Žarko Stepanović from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Bojana Selaković from the National Convention for the European Union, Natasa Vučković from the Foundation Center for Democracy, Katarina Golubović from Yucom, Helena Hiršenberger from the SAIGE project (Serbia Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project) of the World Bank and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, moderator Zorica Rašković, and other colleagues from civil society organizations.
