The international scientific conference “Health in All Policies – 20 Years Later” brought together more than 50 experts in the fields of law, public health, and public policy, providing an important platform for the exchange of knowledge on contemporary challenges and the scope of this concept.
Organized by the Institute of Social Sciences (Belgrade), the Bar Association of Vojvodina, and Erasmus University Rotterdam, the conference was held in a hybrid format – both in person and online. Over the course of two days, four panels and one roundtable were conducted, with the participation of researchers and practitioners from Serbia, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Liechtenstein, Croatia, Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, and Georgia. As a result of the conference, a book of abstracts in English was published.
The conference brought together experts in law – both from academia and practice – as well as specialists in public health and public policy. Through keynote lectures, panel discussions, and a roundtable, participants examined the development of the “Health in All Policies” concept, its implementation across various national systems and at the international level, as well as contemporary challenges in medical and health law.
Particular attention was devoted to assessing the scope of this principle two decades after its promotion at the level of the European Union, as well as to the impact of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and telemedicine. Issues related to human rights in the context of healthcare were also discussed.
The conference contributed to strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue and opened space for further research into the complex relationships between law, public health, and public policy.
