Marta Sjeničić, Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences, has been appointed Acting Director of the Institute.
Dr Marta Sjeničić has been affiliated with the Centre for Legal Research of the Institute of Social Sciences since 1997. Her scholarly and professional work has focused on medical and health law, as well as social welfare law.
Her research interests include the legal regulation of rare diseases, access of vulnerable social groups to health and social care services, and other issues relevant to the improvement of the legal framework in these fields. She is a member of the Committee for the Evaluation of Quality and Suitability for Accreditation of Training Programmes in Social Welfare and is also engaged in teaching in the fields of medical and health law and social welfare law.
Before joining the Institute, Dr. Sjeničić gained professional experience in legal practice, the Economics Institute, and the consulting company Deloitte & Touche. She is one of the founders of the Serbian Association of Lawyers for Medical and Health Law.
Dr Sjeničić earned her PhD from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. She is the author and co-author of more than 140 scientific and professional publications.
