On 30 November 2023, upon the occasion of the publication of the collection of papers Život za ideju – misao i delo Đura Šušnjića (Living for an Idea – Thought and Works By Đura Šušnjić) published by the Institute of Social Sciences, a conversation was held participated in by Goran Bašić, director of the ISS in Belgrade, Čedomir Čupić, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences and the collection’s editor, and Sonja Tomović-Šundić, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Montenegro and the collection’s reviewer.
Towards the conclusion of the conversation also participated in by the contributions’ authors and the audience, the attendees were addressed by Đuro Šušnjić, the thought and work of whom this collection is dedicated to.
Šušnjić began his scientific career in the Institute of Social Sciences, where he spent 11 years. He emphasised that these had been the most fruitful years in which he had established and created the concept that he dedicated his entire scientific career to. In this period, he also published volumes Pojam zakona u sociologiji (The Term of Law in Sociology), as well as Otpori kritičkom mišljenju (Resistance to Critical Thinking) in which he developed the outline of his subsequent creative and scientific efforts.
The collection also includes a comprehensive bibliography of Šušnjić’s papers, as well as of the authors who wrote about his output. The bibliography was prepared by Dobrilo Aranitović.
