Researchers from the Institute of Social Sciences, Center for Legal Research are organizing the 8th roundtable on issues of responsibility under the title “Serbia and reforming the institute of responsibility 8”, in cooperation with the Bar Association of Vojvodina, the journal Glasnik AVK.

A special topic that is emphasized within this year’s round table is the topic of sanctions in law – types and effectiveness in practice. The program of the meeting includes numerous issues of sanctions: conceptual definition, types and legal consequences of both criminal sanctions and administrative and civil sanctions. In addition to the compatibilist approach, there are questions about the application of sanctions in Serbian law, such as whether the sanctions are adequate, whether the judicial practice is uniform, what the penal policy is, what are the most often awarded amounts of compensation, how violations are sanctioned, etc. The round table on responsibility is traditionally held in two panels: 1) Legal sanctions – theory and practice; 2) Current issues of responsibility – miscellaneous. The second panel is open for topics chosen by the lecturer, which will be included in the conference program as such.

The meeting is open to participants in the discussion and guests.

The deadline for applying for participation with a topic and submitting abstracts, up to one page in length – no later than September 15, 2025.
