Researchers of the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade, Center for Legal Research, in cooperation with the Bar Association of Vojvodina, Journal of the AKV, held on November 1, 2024. Round table on issues of responsibility in law entitled “Serbia and reforming the institute of liability 7”. The round table on liability traditionally took place in two panels. In the first part of the work, the topic of the meeting is legal disputes in practice. In the second panel of the meeting, space was given for consideration of various questions on the topic of liability, chosen by the lecturer. The purpose of the meeting was to cover issues of various legal fields, to explain the genesis and qualification of disputes, as well as to present all the foreseen mechanisms for their resolution.
The breadth of consideration and substance of different branches of law, which share some forms of liability, procedurally or materially, was reflected in the following topics: Artificial intelligence and court proceedings, Serbia and liability in the market – is it due for reform, Climate change and the increase in the number of climate disputes at the global level, Liability for the recruitment of child soldiers in armed conflicts, The effects of American apology laws in the reform of tort liability in medical law, Some examples of medical euthanasia from the practice of German courts, The liability of the state to protect and manage natural resources in accordance with the public interest, Liability for femicide, Liability for obstetric violence, Application of the Directive on sanctioning employers and issues of liability – the risk of labor exploitation or the protection of the labor and social rights of irregular migrant workers, Improving the transparency of the work of EU agencies – the example of EFSA, Liability for damage caused by the use of autonomous vehicles, and The specificity of the liability of developing countries and the lack of international climate change law.
