The Centre for Legal Research of the Institute of Social Sciences, in cooperation with the Bar Association of Vojvodina and the Glasnik of the Bar Association of Vojvodina, is organizing the ninth traditional scientific round table “Serbia and the Reform of Liability Law 9”, which this year is dedicated to the theme Free Professions and Liability.
The event will bring together academics and legal professionals to discuss key challenges related to the professional liability of members of the liberal professions, as well as current issues in legal theory, legislation, and judicial practice.
This year’s round table will focus on key theoretical and practical issues concerning the professional liability of members of the liberal professions, with the aim of fostering scholarly and professional debate on improving the legal framework in this field.
Participants will examine the legal status and classification of the liberal professions, the requirements for practising a profession, professional risks, errors and omissions, as well as various forms of civil, criminal, administrative, and disciplinary liability. Special attention will be devoted to the harmonisation of Serbian legislation with European Union law, the implementation of regulations governing regulated professions, and current challenges in judicial practice concerning professional liability.
The scientific programme will be organised into two panels: Free Professions and Liability and Current Issues of Liability – Miscellaneous. The second panel is intended for presentations on topics proposed by participants and accepted for inclusion in the scientific programme.
The round table will be held in the Great Hall of the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade. All accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts, which will be available in both electronic and printed editions.
