A two-day symposium was organized by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Institute of Social Sciences.
The symposium aimed to contribute to a better understanding of the ongoing reforms in Serbia. The participants discussed the structural, social, and policy implications of the current reforms on the social sciences and humanities. Among other topics, the agenda included the problems of infrastructure in science, the social status of researchers, the gap between basic and applied research in the social sciences and humanities, and the status of scientific knowledge in general. Four IDN researchers had presentations at the symposium: M.Rasevic, G.Basic, V.Milisavljevic, and S.Ignjatovic.
