Second Workshop: How to Recognize and Respond to Destructive Groups

Following the successful completion of the first cycle of workshops, held in August at Hotel Jugoslavija, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the concept and generated significant interest among participants, we are continuing with a series of educational events as part of the SEED project – The Impact of Sects on Youth Quality of Life. The second cycle of workshops on this important topic will take place from September 11 to 12 at the High School of Economics in Loznica, with a special focus on involving students as active participants.

Youth safety is crucial for the health and stability of society. Young people are often targeted by destructive groups that use manipulative tactics to attract and control them. These groups can include religious sects, extremist organizations, or other groups that use psychological pressure, emotional manipulation, and physical violence.

The goal of these workshops is to raise students’ awareness of the existence and dangers of destructive groups, educate them about the signs and tactics these groups use, and empower them by developing skills for recognizing and responding to such threats. The workshops will also contribute to strengthening the resilience of young people and their communities through information and support.

  • Key topics covered in the workshops include:
  • Identifying destructive groups
  • Manipulation tactics and their influence on young people
  • Response and protection against such groups
  • Prevention and community strengthening

The workshops will be led by Master Aleksandar Glišić, an accredited lecturer in Community Security, who will provide valuable insights and practical advice based on his extensive experience and expertise in security.

These workshops are part of the ongoing activities within the SAIGE project (Project for Accelerating Innovation and Encouraging Entrepreneurship Growth in the Republic of Serbia), which is conducted under the auspices of the Institute of Social Sciences. We expect this event, like the previous one, to make a significant contribution to improving the safety and well-being of young people in our community.
