The Center for Ethnicity Research (www.ercbgd.org.rs) and the Institute for Social Sciences, with the support of the Open Society Foundation, conducted the research project titled “Social Relations Between Ethnic Communities in Serbia.” The main goal of the research was to gather valid data on the social proximity (or distance) between ethnic communities in Serbia. The research also aimed to explore the potential for establishing an integrative multicultural policy and, lastly, to collect data on the attitudes of citizens belonging to national minorities regarding their rights to cultural autonomy and minority self-management, as well as their experiences with national-based discrimination.
