The Presidency of the Association of Institutes of Serbia (CIS) has voiced its support for the students’ demands, which were made following the tragic collapse of the railway station canopy in Novi Sad that claimed 15 lives.
“The Presidency of the Association of Institutes of Serbia supports the students’ demands, as part of their concern for the common good of society, academic freedom, and the dominance of culture and knowledge.”
“We believe that any form of violence against them, as well as the insults and threats they receive, is violence against the entire academic community. We expect state institutions, which are responsible for fulfilling the students’ demands, to react quickly and effectively towards their fulfillment,” the statement says.
