Chairman of the Management Board of the Institute of Social Sciences during 1976 and Head of the Centre for Sociological Research from 1983 to 2001. He received BA, MA and PhD from the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade.
He spent 34 years in the ISS and acquired additional expertise at London School of Economics and Political Sciences. He led major scientific research projects, gave lectures upon invitation at different universities and was a member of the journals of Gledišta, Sociološki pregled and Marksistička misao (Perspectives; Sociological Review; Marxist Thought).
