Biography
The year of receiving the highest degree of professional qualification: 2017.
Sara Stanić Jovanović, PhD, was born on November 1, 1983. in Belgrade. After graduating at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at the University of Novi Sad (Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management), she completed her second degree academic master’s studies at the Faculty of Geography at the University of Belgrade, at the Department of Tourismology. She received her doctorate at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade in 2017. In 2006, she obtained a tourist guide license from the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Serbia, since then she has been cooperating with numerous travel agencies from Serbia and abroad. Since 2012, she has been chosen as Director of the Public Enterprise for Tourism of the City Municipality of Surčin.
Since 2016, she has been employed at the Surčin Cultural Center, and since 2022, at the Academy of Vocational Studies in Šumadija, Arandjelovac Department, as a Lecturer, where in 2023 she was elected as the head of the Department of Applied Economics, Entrepreneurship and Management. In the same year, she was elected to the position of Research Associate at the “Jovan Cvijić” Geographical Institute, SANU in Belgrade.
She is a co-author and member of the scientific and professional team of the international project “Development of rural tourism with education of the Employer’s employees”, for the needs of Coal Mine ad from Montenegro, which is realized during 2023. She is the editor of the magazine “Highlights of Sustainability”. Professional associate of the Association of Business Women of Serbia, for whose needs she organized a professional lecture and practical training on the topic of Rural Tourism in 2023 as part of the project “Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups of Women through Trade Training”, and under the auspices of the German Organization for International Cooperation-GIZ. Participant of numerous congresses and manager and author of more than 40 projects from various fields.
