Biography

The year of receiving the highest degree of professional qualification PhD, 2022, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade

Ksenija Marković was born on April 1st, 1986 in Zemun. She graduated at the Faculty of Political Sciences in 2011 and took MA in Political Sciences in 2013– subject of the final thesis: “Participation of national minorities in the legislative and executive power: a case study of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia”. In 2022, she defended her doctoral thesis “The influence of political parties on the process of social and political integration of national minorities in the Republic of Serbia (2000–2016)”.

During the studies, Ksenija Marković worked as a research associate at the Center for Environmental Policy at the Faculty of Political Sciences (2011–2012). She worked as a project manager and researcher at the Forum for Ethnics (2013–2016), where she gained experience in field research and project management. She actively participated in several researches regarding to national minorities in Serbia, the status of the National councils of national minorities and the position of the Serbian community in the north of Kosovo.

She has been working at the Institute of Social Sciences since June 2016. She attended many seminars, summer and winter schools. During this time, she participated in international and national conferences dedicated to multiculturalism, the rights and position of national minorities in post-conflict areas, from which she has several important papers published in various collections. She was member of the project teams and participated in conducting several empirical studies and researches, the most important of which are: Social relations between ethnic communities in Serbia (2020), Public opinion research “Serbia between EU and Russia (2018)”, Populism – causes and consequences (2017), HORIZONT 2020- Western Balkan Cooperation ESS (2020-2021).

In previous scientific and research work, Ksenija Marković has shown great interest in studying ethnically divided societies, inter-ethnic relations, party systems, democratization process and state building. In addition to participating in various conferences, she also had a several lectures on the subject of integration policies and the position of national minorities. She is a member of the Academic Network for Cooperation in South-Eastern Europe. She speaks English fluently. She is a member of the Academic Network for Cooperation in South-Eastern Europe
