From November 25th to 27th The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia together with the cabinet of the minister without portfolio responsible for demography and population policy and Center for Demographic Research of the Institute of Social Sciences hosted a Joint Eurostat/UNECE Conference in Belgrade conference on population projections.
Some 70 experts on population projections from around the world attended the conference. Together they went through fertility, mortality and migration assumptions and exchanged views on some of the newest (and some not so new) population projection methods.
