Upon realization of the legally stipulated accreditation procedure, on which occasion it had been established that the Institute of Social Sciences (ISS) (www.idn.org.rs) achieved extraordinary scientific results, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the decision that awarded the Institute the status of an institute of national significance for the Republic of Serbia.
This is the first institute in the field of social sciences and humanities to receive such status within our scientific community, and this is therefore an important occasion for the social sciences in Serbia in general.
This success, that we are exceptionally proud of, has been built upon the work, results and experience of generations of scientists who have worked in the Institute.
