Zorica Mršević PhD, and Svetlana Janković M.Sc., held another online lecture on April 26, 2021, which was a part of the lecture series “New Views, Perspectives and Research on Gender Theory” organized by the Study and Research Group for Gender Equality and Public Policy of the Institute of Social Sciences. It continued the previous thematic presentation of the authors which dealt with inclusive security in international relations and military security structures. In addition to the basic, well-argued view that a gender-equality approach to organized social and institutional response to disasters is necessary to reduce the consequences of disasters and accompanying violence, the authors presented a number of new concepts in the field of security such as “Black Swan”, “Transactional Sex”, “Build Back Better”, etc. The discussion led after the authors’ presentation was conducted about issues of comparative legal experiences, the efficiency of teams composed of both women and men, the powers and functioning of the courts, the police and the army. A significant increase in violence against women during the recent “black swan” catastrophes was particularly emphasized, as well as the Swiss experience in this area. The efforts of the OSCE Mission to Serbia to influence the more efficient functioning of institutions and the media presentation of gender-based violence were presented.
The lecture was attended by eighteen colleagues and experts in gender equality from various scientific and institutional organizations, from Belgrade, Sarajevo, Podgorica, the OSCE Mission to Serbia, as well as from the Faculty of Law University in Nis, the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies in Novi Sad and the Institute of Social Sciences. The authors’ work on the presented topic is available on the website: http://zoricamrsevic.in.rs/najnovije/NE-NASILJU_-_Inkluzivna-bezbednost.pdf.
