Geospatial Data Collection and Landscape Valorisation

It is an honor to invite you to attend a lecture by our colleague Ivan Potić as part of the cycle of lectures by new researchers at the Institute of Social Sciences.

This lecture presents methodological approaches and applied case studies from geosciences and geospatial studies. The case studies focus on processes of geospatial data collection, processing, and quality control, primarily based on remote sensing methods – LiDAR technology, UAV platforms, and satellite imagery. Special attention is given to accuracy assessment and data validation procedures within the GIS environment. The central part of the lecture will address spatial analysis and landscape valorisation through multi-criteria GIS analysis, where the landscape is perceived as a complex system of natural and social elements. The lecture will emphasize the importance of integrating diverse data sources and analytical approaches in spatial planning and decision-making processes.

The aim of this lecture is to promote new researchers and familiarize them with their previous work.
