The research group of the Institute of Social Sciences, Forum for Strategic Studies (FORST), organized a panel discussion titled “Serbian Foreign Policy in a Changing World” at the multi-congress of think tanks, Serbian Visions 2019. The discussion took place on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Radisson Collection Old Mill Hotel, where the event was hosted, co-organized by the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
The discussion featured presentations by FORST associates on the topic of Serbian foreign policy, followed by a public debate. The presentations were made by Dr. Neven Cvjetićanin, senior research associate at the Institute of Social Sciences and head of the FORST research group; Ambassador Dr. Duško Lopandić from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ambassador Dr. Srećko Đukić, a member of the Forum for International Relations of the European Movement in Serbia. The presentations and subsequent discussion addressed strategic directions of the Republic of Serbia’s foreign policy, as well as the importance of research organizations and groups in preparing credible and usable analyses in the fields of foreign policy, international relations, geopolitics, and security, which could serve as a basis for developing long-term public policies in these areas, providing decision-makers with a credible scientific platform for their choices.
The event attracted significant public attention and was well-attended, with the audience actively participating in the discussion in a full conference room. Attendees included members of the diplomatic corps in Serbia, as well as representatives from state, scientific, and academic institutions.
