Ivana Arsić, a research assistant at the Center for Sociological and Anthropological Research at the Institute of Social Sciences, delivered a lecture titled Erasure of Identity: Repression of the Catalan Language in Modern Times as part of the Second Cycle of Lectures by Young Researchers.
The presentation addressed the issue of the repression of the cultural identity of the Catalans, with a particular focus on its most significant component – language. The aim was to use sociolinguistic and lingvocultural methods to more clearly determine the extent, causes, and consequences of the suffering of the Catalan language in modern times.
