Biography:

Dijana Vukomanovic is a researcher, working for almost two decades, at the Institute of Social Sciences and Institute of Political Studies, continuously upgrading her education and professional career as political researcher, civil society – NGO activist and women leader - politician.

She was active in civil society organizations – as an associate of the Forum for Ethnic Relations (Belgrade), as well as of the international humanitarian organization Oxfam GB (Belgrade Office). She was the founder and director of the Center for Democratic Culture (Belgrade NGO), in charge of management of various project that have been focused on development of democracy and citizen participation, in cooperation with international organizations (Freedom House, World Bank Institute, etc.).

As a women politician and former MP of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, for the last 10 years, Dijana Vukomanovic was actively participating in the process of drafting and changing laws to implement European standards of developed democracy. She was the Head of the Standing delegation of the Serbian National Assembly at the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, and member of various parliamentary committees: for European integration, for Foreign Affairs, for Education, etc.

She was an active member of the Women`s Parliamentary Network, participating in peace-building projects and dialogue gathering prominent women from the Western Balkan`s countries.

  • Member of the Belgrade Office of the Oxfam Great Britain (humanitarian organization), 1999-2000
  • Founder and director of the Centre for Democratic Culture (Belgrade NGO), 2000-2003
  • Member of the Women`s Parliamentary Network (National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia), 2013-2020
