The Institute of Social Sciences, in cooperation with the University of Padua and other project partners, successfully implemented the Green Public Procurement (GPP) Training Programme within the GPP2ADRION project, held online from 11 March to 15 April 2026.
The 20-hour programme was designed to enhance the practical knowledge and skills of contracting authorities and bidders in the field of green public procurement, with a particular focus on sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Through five thematic modules, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the legal framework of the European Union and national legislation, green public procurement policy instruments, the application of environmental criteria, life-cycle costing, market analysis, as well as practical case studies from Serbia, Slovenia, Ireland, and other partner countries.
Special attention was devoted to examples of circular and joint public procurement, sustainable pellet procurement, energy-efficient procurement practices, as well as the procurement of textiles, furniture, refurbished computers, light bulbs, and air-conditioning units. The programme also addressed topics related to waste management and the promotion of the circular economy through public procurement.
Following the final online evaluation, 39 candidates successfully passed the final examination and were nominated as GPP Ambassadors.
The Institute of Social Sciences congratulates all participants and future GPP Ambassadors, whose knowledge and engagement will contribute to the development of more sustainable, circular, and environmentally responsible public procurement practices throughout the region.
