A working meeting dedicated to the European Social Survey (ESS), one of the most important research infrastructures in the field of comparative social sciences, brought together representatives of the scientific community, international representatives of the ESS infrastructure, and decision-makers, who jointly discussed the significance of this survey and its future in Serbia.
The meeting addressed current challenges and opportunities for the sustainability and further development of this important research infrastructure, with a particular focus on funding not only the ongoing research cycle, but also the potential model for its long-term and continuous financing.
In addition, representatives of the academic community presented some of the possible ways in which ESS data can be used in scientific research. This was followed by a discussion on possibilities for supporting research infrastructure in Serbia by decision-makers, as well as on the potential of the academic community as an advocacy actor in this process.
