The Institute of Social Sciences is organizing the international scientific conference “Gender Equality in the Post-Yugoslav Space: Challenges, Policies and Perspectives”, with the aim of opening a space for interdisciplinary and critical discussion on one of the important social issues of the contemporary region.
The conference will bring together researchers from various disciplines in order to comparatively examine the theoretical, institutional, economic and social aspects of gender equality, as well as to reassess existing policies and practices in post-Yugoslav societies. Special attention will be devoted to contemporary challenges in the context of different integration and development processes.
We invite authors to contribute to the discussion on the conceptualization of gender equality, economic and sociodemographic factors, institutional and legal frameworks and public policies, as well as issues of health, work, family, political participation, media and gender stereotypes.
Thematic Panels:
- Conceptualization of Gender Equality
- Economic Conditions and Factors
- Institutional and Legal Frameworks
- Gender Equality in the Context of Public Policies
The conference will be held in a hybrid format – in person and online, and the working languages will be English and the languages of the post-Yugoslav space.
The deadline for abstract submission is March 20, 2026, and all submitted abstracts will be subject to review by the Scientific Committee of the conference.
Abstracts should be sent to the following addresses:
