On Monday, May 12, a lecture was held on “The Impact of Five Industrial Revolutions and Megashock Waves on the Insurance Industry” by academician and professor Wolfgang Rohrbach. The development of digitalization and artificial intelligence is changing the way insurance is provided, affecting the change in the insurance policy itself, as well as the offer of intangible types of insurance. The role of the human factor has decreased, and digital data collection in insurance companies has increased. Insurance as an effective way of protecting against the risk of health loss, data loss, protection against climate change and war disasters, but also terrorism and insurance against bankruptcy. With the help of artificial intelligence, the payment of insurance premiums has been accelerated. Like other industries, the insurance industry is exposed to changes caused by four megashock waves, namely demographic, environmental, technological and economic, which additionally affect the offer and execution of insurance. Property and personal insurance helps to more easily overcome crises caused by internal and external factors.
