The project focuses on exploring the influence of destructive groups and sects on the mental health and social integration of high school students in Loznica. The research aims to better understand the prevalence and impact of such groups on youth and the challenges faced by high school students involved with or exposed to their activities. Additionally, the study aims to create specific recommendations for prevention and support within the school environment. Based on these insights, we intend to identify potential strategies for preventive measures and youth support to enhance their well-being and protect them from harmful influences. The ultimate goal of the project is to raise awareness about this issue and establish a foundation for further research and initiatives.
The project is being implemented using qualitative research methods. The first phase involved gathering survey responses from students. Subsequently, interviews were conducted with school staff members. Additionally, workshops were held with psychologists and pedagogues within the school system from August 4th to 6th, while workshops aimed at educating high school students on recognizing the mechanisms of specific groups were held on September 11th and 12th, focusing on analyzing the results and developing recommendations for future activities. Preliminary research findings were presented at a relevant scientific conference, with detailed analyses and findings to be published in scientific papers. The research results will be valuable for developing education and support programs within schools and institutions, aiming to improve the mental health and social integration of young people.
